New colors

My sister was surprised that I am giving away our old bed linens. I told her that I want to go for matouk this time. Well, you know, the bedroom is the part of the house where it should be really be beautiful and you will feel such comfort. Some people can actually live inside their bed rooms especially in a very cold lazy day. Another part of the house that I want to change is our bathroom.Not really a renovation but maybe just new colors.

I hope I could visit my cousin’s house someday. I saw some of its pictures in a social network site and it is really beautiful. No wonder, many visitors go there from time to time. I wish to be in that picture by the outdoor fireplace. More than that, I hope to see her and her family. It has been more than ten years since we have last seen each other.

Buy a flat TV

Today is a good day to go to the mall and shop! Well, today is Father’s day and you have an excuse to buy a new appliance like a flat TV for example! Get one with complete flat panel mount and maybe free installation. Well, that is not just a small purchase that you are about to make right? I am sure Dad will be happy with it!

Not popular but necessary

I am very proud of my brother. They recently purchased a lot. A small house is already built in it and his family are now living there. You know, his wife could not take it anymore living with the in-laws. It is normal here in the Philippines that when a married couple is just starting, they live with the in-laws first. It depends who is richer or sort of to provide for the needs of additional two people or more in case that the couple already decided to have kids. In my brother’s case, it took thirteen years before they finally bought a property. He is working for a lending company and luckily, a lot that was force closed by the bank was available for sale. They got it at a very low price of almost 75 percent lower. Imagine that! It was really a good buy. Since they just built only a small house which was actually in purpose besides the fact that resources are tight, there is an open space left that could actually park three vehicles. My sister-in-law said that they plan to have two cars. They are now saving for it. I advised them not to forget car insurance and suggested carinsurancelist. Speaking of insurance, I also told them to have home insurance. Well, it is not really popular here in our country but then again, I think that it is a necessity.

I always look forward lunch time. This office mate of mine always bring food! She is a good cook. She makes her own food. she knows how to use of her imagination in the kitchen. I learned from her yesterday how to cook eggplant omelet. Before, what we do was to cook the eggplant first in direct fire. After that we will peel it and soak it in the egg mix. Yesterday, she brought this sort of eggplant omelet. I say this because it had some variations. Well it was not just soaked in egg but there was also some garlic and onions added. No grilling done too! According to her, the way to do it is to steam the eggplant on top of the rice cooker while cooking rice. Great idea! It is environment friendly too! Moreover, we will be able to save much energy.

I asked my friend if she has some Party Food creations too. She said that she is working on it. Actually, she brought Fish Tempura with fried slices of eggplant in tempura mix also and I think that it is a good combination and could pass as party food. Very healthy and mouth watering! I really loved it! I told her to bring more! True enough, we went to the nearby grocery store before going home last night. I wonder what she would bring today. I saw some ground pork, ground beef, salami, burger patty, long hot dogs, some mixes and big bag of chips! I hope that the long overdue house blessing will be held soon! Well yeah, she has a new home thus it means party and more parties and more food!

Well, what’s cooking here inside our own home? That is what I am going to work at also. Last night we had Broccoli with Tofu in Oyster Sauce. Yum, yum! No meat nor fish in it but I guess the Tofu will already suffice for the protein need. I really like to learn more recipes. I do not like to use my imagination right now because the budget might not allow it.

Decorating a new home

My sister in law has a new house! There will be the traditional house blessing this coming Sunday in time also for her 31st birthday! I am thinking of buying accent rugs for her new abode. I must ask her first what is the color of their living room so that what I will purchase could at least complement the house motif.

Decorating a new home is really exciting and fulfilling. I wish I could do that soon also!

Alternative

I think every house should have an emergency alert system. It is not only a protection from robbers but even for certain things like a flood maybe or big animals that would like to enter your home. My sister-in-law’s idea. She said that as an alternative we could put some cans at the gate. I do not know how it would work. Anyways, an alarm system would be best for our peace of mind.

Big renovation

The garage floor of our neighbor’s house is even nicer to look at and step into than what we have right now. We have not yet decided on what kind of flooring to be used for the living room. I do not know how long it will take for us to finally choose one. It has been more than a month since that typhoon that destroyed our house. There is a big renovation needed. Even the main door of the house needs to be replaced. we lost so many things too. It is quite depressing and the stress it caused is really high. Until now, it still stays.

Make the room cleaner and bigger

I think that having glass tiles in the kitchen is cleaner. It is easier to clean and it is easier to see the dirt. The kitchen is one area in the house that should be spic and span all the time because there is where we prepare the food that we eat.

I would also like to put glass tiles in the bathroom. It will have a great effect and would make the room biiger.

One of the marketing strategies of companies selling appliances is giving freebies. We went to the mall and the flat screen TV that we would like to buy comes with a free electrical fan. We looked around and other freebies are mounts, microwave ovens, DVD players and other small appliances. Not bad, huh! It gives the buyer a sense of being able to save by getting a freebie.
