Walk, drink coffee, and no breakfast

January 12th, 2010

She did her first weigh in for the year. The usual broken record of will try to lose weight this year thing. Oh boy, each year five to ten pounds is being added to her weight. No wonder all her office uniforms are all tight after the Holidays. Her friends even tell her the obvious that she looks bigger. That quite pained her?

The first week of January was okay… she was able to shy away from soda. Then came invitations for post New Year get togethers. Venue? Eat all you can restos. Then gifts received were mostly food. Hey, she had wasted so many left overs already inside the fridge. So, she decided to eat all of those stuff first.

Second week came. She drank soda. Broken promises? She weighed in yesterday and saw that she is already nearing 180 lbs. Actually, she only needs two pounds or less than two pounds at 1.80 lbs to be that humongous for her height of almost 5’2! Yes, that was her weight when she was nine months pregnant! Where is the baby? Distributed fats all over her body! At least proportionally distributed, eh? Nah! She looks like a man. A man who loves to drink beer everyday with a big bloated tummy.

Okay then… she has decided yesterday. That was before she leaves the office. Then there was an invitation for coffee! Another more than a thousand empty calorie intake. How could she declined an offer from her Boss? She obliged and just asked her to walk from the office to the coffee shop. Huh, as if it will do any trick!

Today, she has not taken anything in yet. Three day diet or Oriental diet? Too bad, she does not have the copy of the Oriental diet. Oriental diet is for nine days with the first two days as detox day. No solid intake. Only water, coffee or pure fruit juices. Then there is already a program for five days. Where is the book? The Three day diet is easier. You will only do it for three days with three meals a day and four diet sodas a day allowed. Pretty easy?

Good luck to her. She feels hungry now. I know, it would take a lot of determination and courage for her to cut off some of those weight.
